I visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park for the first time on the 18th February 2012. We arrived at 10:30 am, the park wasn't that busy.

The main thing I wanted to see today was the Park's new Amur Tigers. There are two at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, a male (Vladimir) and a female (Sayan). I went up to there enclosures, I found what I expected them both sleeping away!

I was very impressed with there enclosures, the best I'd say in the UK.

After photographing there enclosure I made some notes on there behaviour, Sayan was sleeping in the centre of her enclosure occasionally lifting her head at a young child or two (Screaming!!). Vladimir was more laid back he was looking around his enclosure, three male Amur Leopards live next door to him and one did keep calling to him. Vladimir took no interest in the leopard, Sayan and Vladimir were introduced together on the 23rd January 2012- Vladimir arrived in February 2011 (24th Feb 2011) and Sayan arrived in May 2011 (5th May 2011). Vladimir is nearly three and Sayan is four in August. The keeper I spoke to said that things are going well, Sayan is cross eyed as she got spat at in her eye as a young cub. Sayan loves going in the water in the warmer weather- Vladimir not so much, he got dunked as a cub by his two sisters and has been scared of water since.

Sayan became more active later in the day, Vladimir stayed asleep- Sayan was watching a keeper thinking food was on the way, the female keeper I spoke to commented on the way they were fed, there fed in the house, for some reason they won't feed them outside, they are planning to in the summer.
